Well, it's just the first day of this blog and already I have changed the layout. Originally, I had a nice orange-colored layout, featuring Sanrio's Chococat. But the more I looked at it, the more dissatisfied I became. I really don't like using copyrighted images (esp without the author's permission).

I dug through my computer files and found this ballet graphic. A couple of months ago, I was in a training class (yeah, one of those interesting things) and I was doodling on a napkin. I drew this dancer, and after I got home, I scanned it and colored it in. Sure, it's not perfect and everything, but you know what? I created it from scratch. That's something I'm (just a bit) proud of.

So anyways, I know, who am I to be standing on a soapbox, right? Yes, I have used © images in the past (twice, I think). Truthfully, though, I got sick of those layout pretty quickly. It's not that I have some grandiose delusion where I think I can draw just as well as paid (or unpaid) professionals. It's just more satisfying, I think.

Of course, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with using clipart or stock photography. As long as the creator or photographer, etc has given permission for people to use their art.
